Hi, Ordered this about 5 weeks ago, so I been waiting to DIY and try the product before I left a review. I mixed Palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 Liposome Emulsion, 3/4 tsp, with 3tsps distilled water and 3/4 tsp of rose hip oil. It makes a beautiful light weight serum that I apply at night. You can feel tightening within a few minutes. The tightening subsides in half hour or so and then I apply a moisturiser. Another excellent buy from Bulk Actives. .. ...»

What are peptides?

Peptides are molecules made up of two or more amino acids linked together by the same peptide bonds found in proteins. Peptides are closely related to protein. In fact, when the number of amino acids is less than about 50, these molecules are called peptides while longer chains are called proteins. Peptides and proteins are present in every living cell and are responsible for many biochemical activities including acting in enzymes, hormones, antibiotics, etc.

How do peptides stimulate collagen synthesis?

Peptides perform important functions in the skin. As people age, they lose collagen which results in sagging and wrinkled skin. Since collagen is a protein composed of long chains of amino acids linked together by peptide bonds, peptides play an important role in replacing lost collagen. As collagen breaks down, the protein chains break up into smaller chains of peptides. The resulting peptide chains send signals to the body to produce more collagen.

Since peptides are small, they can penetrate the skin’s protective barriers. Applying peptides directly to the skin through well formulated delivery vehicles tricks the skin into thinking that it has lost collagen recently and needs to produce more.

What is an appropriate delivery vehicle for targeted absorption of peptides?

We know that peptides are small. This means that they will NOT penetrate the skin if they formulated and used in a thick cream, they will just end up sitting in the cream on top of the skin.

Lipid based delivery systems, such as liposomes, are most suitable for the delivery of peptides. Read more here.

The cosmetic scientist who tested and formulated our peptides, has successfully created a liposome lamellar microemulsion to enhance the peptides' absorption and transport to their target cell groups.

Simply adding water to the emulsion will create a thin, elegant serum which will easily absorb into the skin. In addition it is possible to add other water and oil soluble anti aging skin actives to the microemuslion, to create a powerful and complex anti aging skin care product.

Who manufactured the peptides and the peptide lipsome microemulsion

We have spent an enormous amount of time in preparing for the sale of our pal-ghk Palmitoyl oligopeptide and pal-gqpr palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 peptides liposome emulsion.

First we researched for a reliable peptide manufacturer. In the end the choice was surprisingly easy. After contacting numerous local universities we learned that they all use only one manufacturer for the synthesis of peptides used in their research labs.

We ordered our sample peptides, and handed them over to our ODM cosmetic scientist. He then stabilized the peptides by loading them into proteins, and then encapsulated the stabilized peptides into liposomes. The finished product is a stable microemulsion which is ready for formulating.

How many peptides are in the pal-ghk Palmitoyl oligopeptide and pal-gqpr palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 peptides liposome emulsion?

Peptides are small, really small, and they are counted in ppm (parts per million).

1ppm = 1mg = 0.001g

Matrixyl 3000, which uses the same peptides as our pal-ghk Palmitoyl oligopeptide and pal-gqpr palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 peptides liposome emulsion contains:

100ppm of Palmitoyl-GHK - Palmitoyl oligopeptide
50 ppm of Palmitoyl GQPR - palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7

The recommended usage for Matrixyl 3000 is 3%

Our pal-ghk Palmitoyl oligopeptide and pal-gqpr palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 peptides liposome emulsion contains

  • Palmitoyl oligopeptide (PAL GHK) 260ppm
  • Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7ppm (PAL GQPR) 140ppm

Why sell a microemulsion instead of the pure powder?

  •  Peptides are expensive, and sold in grams. A manufacturer will usually take minimum orders of 10 grams, as they are synthesized on demand..
  • 2 grams of peptides will make about 4KG of stock solution.
  • In the Matrixyl 3000 tests they used 1,3, and 5% of Matrixyl 3000 (Matrixyl 3000 being a stock solution containing 100ppm of Palmitoyl-GHK and 50 ppm of Palmitoyl GQPR )
  • Peptides are sold as a freeze dried powder, and must be stored and shipped at a minimum of 4C.
  • Dissolving the peptides in their appropriate solvent is relatively easy, loading them into proteins and encapsulating them in liposomes to maintain long term stability at room temperature is not.
  • We can most certainly sell our peptides in amounts of 1 gram, contact us if you are interested, but please keep in mind that the costs (including the FedEx temperature-controlled shipping costs) will be high.

About Palmitoyl Oligopeptide

Palmitoyl Oligopeptide is known for considerably stimulating the collagen production in cells that provide structure to connective tissues. These results are seen when this particular peptide is used for a significant amount of time, encouraging firmer skin.

About Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 boosts reduces the inflammatory response in the skin. Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 also reduces the damage inflicted by exposure to pollution, ultraviolet light and other factors that are known to stress the skin.

Carnosine (L-Carnosine)
Carnosine is a compound from two amino acids, produced naturally in the human brain and muscles. Most likely, it performs a protective function – carnosine neutralizes metal ions and is a powerful antioxidant. It is used in skin care to combat oxidative damage to DNA and proteins, such as that caused by UV exposure. Furthermore, carnosine can protect proteins, primarily collagen, from glycation. These qualities make it a promising molecule in the fight against ageing, as carnosine not only protects cellular components, but can improve the visual appearance, reduce roughness and fine lines. It also maintains the barrier function of the skin, both by simple hydration and complex effects in wound healing. Carnosine applications are of special importance to diabetes patients, as it helps alleviate several complications of this disease, among them xerosis, rapid AGE production, and impaired wound healing.

Key benefits Carnosine in skin care:

  • Glycation inhibitor and repair [1] [9]
  • Sun damage protection [3] [4]
  • Sun damage repair [3] [4]
  • Wound healing support [11] [12]
  • Moisturizing & hydration [13] [14]
  • Antioxidant [4] [5] [6]
  • Restore barrier function [8]
Palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 Liposome Emulsion
The Palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 peptides liposome emulsion contains the peptides pal-ghk and pal-gqp acting in synergy to repair the cutaneous damages of age. By activating the skin’s natural production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, the peptides work to reduce wrinkles and other signs of aging. Collagen, made up of long strands of amino acids, is really the main building block of skin, giving the skin its smooth, and youthful appearance. As we age, collagen is lost, and this gives way to aged, wrinkled looking skin. When the long strands of amino acids in collagen are broken down they create small chains commonly referred to as peptides. The presence of these peptides signal to the skin that it has lost collagen and the production of more is necessary. The peptides Palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 work to mimic the appearance of this broken down collagen, causing your skin to react by producing more collagen, as well as elastin (responsible for the skin’s elasticity, and  hyaluronic acid (which plumps up the skin and gives it that healthy, full look).

Key benefits of the peptides Palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 liposome emulsion in skin care:

  • reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • stimulate HA production
  • glycation inhibitor and repair
  • increase skin elasticity
  • moisturizing and hydration
  • stimulate collagen production
  • sun damage repair
