This lovely, simple, and affordable product has become something I don't want to be without. I am 47, with very sensitive and reactive dry skin. This cream doesn't feel particularly moisturizing and leaves something of a 'dry' finish on the skin after application, but it's had SUCH a positive impact on my face. The redness and papules from my rosacea and seb derm have reduced by a good 90%. It's been a magical barrier restorer and I panicked when it was temporarily out of stock. I would recomme.. ...»
This is the best product I have ever used on my skin and I tried a LOT of expansive brands. It helps with redness and overall skin tone. Please do not ever stop making this stuff... ...»
Tried this on my week-old rash from flea bites. Got an almost instant relief and rash healed in 2 days.
Tried it on my daughter who has eczema for a very long time. The rashes calmed down after a few days and her skin is now healing well. Really great product. Just put in order for another jar.... ...»
Just recently ordered this and LOVE! Green Tea EGCG truly is one of the most fantastic skincare actives out there. Very difficult to find good quality product (90%) and even harder to actually solubilize it! Love that it comes in pre-dissolved solution. I enjoy adding it at 1% (so 11% sol) to my serum formulations containing Niacinamide 5% + NAG 3%. Excellent for oily acne prone skin.
*Only gripe... because the Pre-Dissolved Solution is SO heavy in propanediol (10 parts Propanediol for 1 part E.. ...»
Wonderful base cream! Only multi-lamellar structured cream I've found on the market. Cream itself is lightweight (no oil) yet very conditioning/hydrating. Easily accepts water-soluble active ingredients as well as oil-soluble ones. I've even pushed the additional ingred % up to 20 (meaning 80% this cream, 20% added) without any separation issues. Ideal base cream for delivering actives. Personal favorite recipe calls for 5% straight Grapeseed Oil with 5% SebumREG oil active + Panthenol 1% + E Ac.. ...»
This ingredient has done more for my skin than anything else I've ever used.
I put it into a spray facial toner and use it morning and night. I noticed the effects immediately, they were that dramatic.

Excellent base Ceramide 2, 3, 6II Lamellar Liquid Crystal PRE emulsion! It went very well for me and my daughter, she has atopic dermatitis. Literally on the third day of applying the cream (which is made up of Multi Lamellar Base Cream V2 Carrier Oil Free, NO Polymer 60%, 10% black currant oil, rice bran oil 5%, 1% of the complex of ceramides and water), the skin of my daughter got clean and healthy. I have noticeably narrowed pores, face was moist and disappeared on my forehead shine.

I've been using Bulkactives green tea EGCG for four years. No complaints, it blends nicely my DIY anti-aging cream. I can feel a bit of toning and definitely notice the anti-inflammatory effects on my skin. Two observations that keep the rating 4 stars instead of 5: (1) A package of green tea contains significantly less weight/volume than the package of grape seed extract that I order from bulkactives. The two are combined in equal amounts in the anti-aging cream, so I find myself running o.. ...»
Another great find on bulkactives. Mixed with de mineralized water, you have the basis to add to any serum, mix with your moisturiser, to simply use on it's own. Love it... ...»

BulkActives has been in business since 2005, we might have disappeared from google search results, but we're still hanging on, just, mainly thanks to the support of some loyal customers.
However, like many, COVID hit us hard, and we're having a lot of trouble recovering.
Right now, we have not restocked many powders, however, are looking at continuing with selling only our flagship products:
seakelp and pre-dissolved powders, and some of the essentials.
Hesperidin is a a plant flavonoid, found naturally in citrus fruits. It has numerous biological benefits, but it is poorly absorbed and transported in the body, hence a modified version, hesperidin methyl chalcone (HMC), is used in cosmetics. The best known effect of HMC is reduction of capillary permeability. This can be used to reduce dark circles and bags under the eyes or even treat varicose veins. It is also known to reduce melanin synthesis, thus lightening the skin, and it also protects skin from UV-caused damage and cell ageing. Furthermore, HMC restores the barrier function of the skin, improving hydration, regulating pH and promoting skin cell proliferation. Finally, it has an anti-inflammatory effect, and can even be used to reduce various types of pain caused by inflammation.
NOTE: To assist you with solubility issues, we now also sell Hesperidin methyl chalcone as a liquid standardized pre-dissolved solution. Just add the liquid to your cream and mix well.
11% solution gives 1% Hesperidin content in final product.
31% solution gives 3% Hesperidin content in final product.
51% solution gives 5% Hesperidin content in final product.
Key benefits of Hesperidin methyl chalcone in skin care:
Sun damage protection [8] [11]
Capillary health [4] [5] [12]
Lightening & brightening [7] [8]
Reduce dark circles under the eyes [6]
Restore barrier function [1] [9] [10]
Anti-inflammatory [2] [5]

Plants are the major source of many complex compounds with cosmetical and pharmaceutical benefits called flavonoids. Hesperidin is one such molecule, composed of a flavone hesperetin bound to a sugar. It is found naturally in peels of orange and other citrus fruits. It has a wide range of protective effects, among them anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral properties, skin whitening effect, epidermal barrier strengthening, and even cancer suppression [1]. Interestingly, many of the benefits of orange juice consumption have been linked to their high hesperidin content [2].
However, pure hesperidin has poor solubility in water, therefore its absorption and distribution inside the body are ineffective [2]. Hesperidin methyl chalcone (HMC) is produced by a simple chemical reaction (adding methyl groups) of hesperidin. Experiments have shown that such changes greatly improve the absorption of related compounds. Furthermore, their health benefits can be even stronger: certain flavones that have a cancer-preventive effect showed 8-10 time stronger effect in the methylated form, likely due to better absorption and transport in the body [3]. Therefore, it is logical that the effects of hesperidin methyl chalcone should be similar to unmodified hesperidin or even more notable.
The action of hesperidin methyl chalcone on capillaries has been known for almost 40 years. It is able to reduce their permeability, thus reducing loss of various molecules through their walls [4]. Many molecules produced during inflammation have an opposite activity, therefore HMC exhibits anti-inflammatory properties [5]. Furthermore, it is able to reduce inflammation-associated pain of various types [2]. In cosmetics, this ability is used in several related products to reduce dark bags and puffiness under the eyes, with reported 65 % reduction of bag volume after 28 days of using HMC [6].
HMC is also a promising cosmeceutical in lightening and brightening skin tone. Hesperidin is able to inhibit melanin synthesis, thus reducing skin darkening, and has an anti-yellowing effect [7]. Hesperetin was also found to be an effective whitening agent, having significant photoprotective effect on the skin [8].
Regarding other uses in cosmetics, hesperidin helps to restore the barrier function of damaged skin. A cream containing 2 % hesperidin restores the hydration of damaged skin up to 50 % of healthy level as soon as 2 hours after damage. Furthermore, it stimulates the proliferation of epidermal cells, resulting in increased skin thickness [1]. This is especially useful for patients using glucocorticoids (steroids), as they can negatively affect the barrier function of skin, and this damage is fully reversed by hesperiding-containing cream [9]. Loss of barrier function is also associated with ageing skin. Additionally, ageing causes skin pH to increase; hesperidin applications can reduce both of these symptoms [10].
The protective effect of hesperetin-related compounds was also shown using fermented citrus peel. UV irradiation of skin cells increases collagen degradation and causes cell ageing. However, application of the fermented peel counteracted these processes, increasing collagen synthesis, decreasing its degradation, and even reducing the levels of markers typically associated with cell senescence [11].
Finally, HMC is useful for patients with varicose veins. Together with Ruscus plant extract, it reduces both the negative symptoms, such as pain and cramps, and the underlying physiological damage associated with this condition [12]. These changes significantly improve the quality of life of the patients [13]. Interestingly, it is believed that HMC is safe to use even in very high doses, since no adverse effects were observed in patients consuming as much as 15 g daily [2].
NOTE: To assist you with solubility issues, we now also sell Hesperidin methyl chalcone as a liquid standardized pre-dissolved solution. Just add the liquid to your cream and mix well.
