This lovely, simple, and affordable product has become something I don't want to be without. I am 47, with very sensitive and reactive dry skin. This cream doesn't feel particularly moisturizing and leaves something of a 'dry' finish on the skin after application, but it's had SUCH a positive impact on my face. Wonderful base cream! Only multi-lamellar structured cream I've found on the market. Cream itself is lightweight (no oil) yet very conditioning/hydrating. Easily accepts water-soluble active ingredients as well as oil-soluble ones. I've even pushed the additional ingred % up to 20 (meaning 80% this cream, 20% added) without any separation issues. I have a blind faith of this Pre Liposome Microemulsion, especially it is made in Japan & of Squalane & Lecithin which I am fond of.
I mixed it with Palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 peptides liposome emulsion & some other water actives like Glucosamine, Niacinamide, Glutathione etc and the serum was very smooth and moisturizing. This is an excellent additive for increased absorption into the skin. I personally incorporate it with the ceramide lamellar crystal emulsion and multi lamellar base cream V2. The final product delivers a soothing, calming, super moisturizing liquid that penetrates the skin and helps the healing of severe skin issues such as mine (ichthyosis, keratosis). Pre Liposome Microemulsion Base
Pre Liposome Microemulsion Preparation Base, is especially suited as carrier for active ingredients in light lotions or serums. Pre Liposome Microemulsion Base is a micro-emulsion premix based on hydrogenated soybean lecithin and olive squalane. Pre Liposome Microemulsion Preparation Base forms clear to translucent preparations with excellent texture just by diluting with water. BulkActives' Pre Liposome Microemulsion Base allows to prepare clear / translucent formulations with various oily ingredients, such as oil-soluble vitamins, vegetable oils, esters, hydrocarbons and silicone oils. Larger amounts of oily ingredients can be incorporated in the product without the texture being affected by high surfactant levels. Hydrogenated soybean lecithin works as a natural emulsifier and promotes penetration of actives into the skin. Liposomes are synthetic microscopic vesicles with an external, fully enclosed double lipid membrane of phospholipids. Liposomes are not active themselves, but function in creams as carriers of active substances to enhance penetration into the skin's fatty layers.

About Pre Liposome Microemulsion Base in DIY Skin Care
Liposomes are microscopic fluid-filled bodies, similar to biological cells. Like the natural cell membranes of human skin cells, liposomes consist of a bilayer with PC-Phosphatidylcholine (Soybean lecithin) as its main component. Liposomes are very similar to the different layers of the skin barrier; hence combines well with cell membranes, bi-layers and acid mantle. Due to their mimicking ability of the core component of the liposome they merge easily with the skin’s natural barrier layers, allowing the active ingredients to penetrate effectively. This natural substance has proven to be the most compatible ingredient used in skin care today and is the most suitable carrier of skin actives such as: peptides, vitamins, amino acids, herbs, and botanicals for Skin Care and Cosmeceutical formulations.Microemulsions are clear, stable, isotropic mixtures of oil, water, and surfactant, frequently in combination with a cosurfactant. Microemulsions have been intensively studied during the last decades by many scientists and technologists because of their great potential in many food and pharmaceutical applications. The use of microemulsions is advantageous not only due to the facile and low cost preparation, but also because of the improved bioavailability. The increased absorption of skin actives s in topical applications is attributed to enhancement of penetration through the skin by the carrier. Saturated and unsaturated fatty acids serving as an oil phase are frequently used as penetration enhancers.
