About the abstracts pages

Abstracts are summarizations of scientific studies. Abstracts can be found for free on search sites such as: pubmed and Google scholar.

Over the last few years we have collected a number of abstracts of scientific studies on cosmetic ingredients used in skin care products.  We would simply copy them onto our product pages so it was easier for you to read the relevant material, and that was it.

With our new website we decided to move most of the abstracts to their own pages.  Also, we decided that just dumping it there and leaving it for you to sort through was not a good way of presenting them

So, we are now in the process of changing this. We will now present them in the following manner:

1.  Author and Title

2.  The type of study

3.  The key point of the study.

4.  What it means to your skin.

Numbers 3 and 4 are written in simple, non scientific English.

We have also started a glossary, to explain some of the scientific terminology you may come across.

Please note that we are NOT scientists, and even though we think we understand the abstract, we may well get it wrong. If you disagree with how we have interpreted the study then please email us and let us know,.

This is meant to be an accurate resource for anybody, customers or not, so we will appreciate any suggestions, help and feedback.
