"Boswellia serrata is a traditional ayurvedic medicine. BulkActive's extract of Boswellia serrata is standarized at 65% for the active triterpenoids, named boswellic acids.
"Boswellic acids, the biologically active ingredients of Boswellia serrata, are shown to be powerful inhibitors of leukotriene production. Leukotrienes are potent mediators of inflammation." Eur. J Med. Res., (1997) Jan; 2(1): 37
Boswellia Serrate (also known as Boswelic acid) is extracted from the serrata tree. It is an organic skin care ingredient that is known to have anti-inflammatory properties. For DIY skin care, Boswellia is a good choice for that anti-inflammatory cream; it may also be added to acne medications, and other recipes that require a non-steroidal anti inflammatory.
